The Brand
The founder is a sleek and fashion-forward gentleman with deep roots from Ghana. His main objective is to showcase his traditional african roots while also educating his customers about traditions, customs and practices of where the brand originated.
The Strategy
For this brand’s strategy we included a mix of high quality studio images with humble photos of everyday life working within the brand. Brand voice includes homage to African and African American culture, making it very youthful, light, and urban. Customers could look forward to #MamaAfricaMonday where the brand highlighted a customer they believed embodied leadership, (adjective), and boldness within their respective industry or community.
The Approach
With traditional kente cloth garments becoming very popular at that time, Mama Africa’s Apparel wanted a page that would stand out amongst competitors. We posted 4 times a week on Instagram and Facebook ensuring that the audience was active on the platforms and ready to engage. Copy included engaging questions that could get the audience talking in the comments.
